A wild night at OSP saw Steve Whitener (8) lead 30 laps until he had a run-in with the about to be lapped car of Gary Phillips. The incident was ruled intentional so Whitener was put to the back of the pack handing the lead over to David Browning (28) who went on to win the 40 lap affair.
The night also saw two very hard crashes. The above mentioned wreck destroyed the G97 earning him a share of the "Tough Luck Award"...
Along with the RH2 of Dan Brode. Something broke on the Brode ride sending him hard into the turn 4 wall. It took track crews and series CEO Stan Lester several minutes to get a dazed Brode out of his car...much to the delight of the crowd and Brode's team.
Series Chaplain Bill Peters was the evenings "Hard Charger" gaining 12 spots at the always tough to pass on OSP.
